The Kindle 4 reader from Amazon is the least expensive of the Ebooks that are around at the moment, this is not to say that it is inferior in any way because it isn't. The Kindle 4 is your basic no frills reader although saying that it is still a brilliant electronic book. The thing with the Kindle 4 is that it is for the people who genuinely want to read and are not that bothered on browsing online at the same time. If you genuinely just want to read then there is no need for all the extra gadgets and the kindle 4 is perfect for you. So what do you actually get from the Kindle 4.

The first thing to consider is the price as this is the least expensive Kindle out of them all. Something that struck me immediately was the way the actual build of the thing seems to have improved so much since the last models were released. There is a nice solid feel to the paddles that you use for turning the pages, and the newer plastic being used has a much more metallic feel to it. The new Kindle is also a lot smaller than the old models which makes them a lot more comfortable to hold. Of course the beauty of these new Kindles is that although their overall size has been reduced the actual screen is still the same six inches as before. Even with this size reduction there is still enough room around the borders of the reader for you to hold it without obscuring the screen which I thought may have been an issue.

The fact that the kindle 4 is smaller you have to expect there to be other things reduced in size to allow for it, well there is. With the kindle 4 you will have a shorter battery life, and the reader itself will only hold half the amount of books as the touch or keyboard models. Now I don't know about you but personally I believe that if you really need more than 1400 books to carry around with you then you must be an incredibly fast reader. The biggest difference between the kindle 4 and the other readers is the lack of a keyboard, this may make a big difference to some people but personally I am not bothered. Whenever I find the need to use a keyboard I would much rather use my laptop because I find the keyboards on readers far to fiddly. All in all I have to give a big thumbs up to the kindle 4, this is actually a great little reader.
